Scorers bag a brace a piece

Once the team got used to the pitch and weathered the early pressure from The Wrinklies we started to take control and attack down the wings. Mark had a storming first half and managed to cut out all the passes from defence and set up Hornets attacking moves. But it was a pass from the left that got the first two goals with Alan bagging a brace within 15 minutes. South Bucks responded and applied the pressure to earn two short corners the second of which was not cleared and they had a easy tap for their first goal. Spurred on hornets pressure continued to pay and Dave sneaked in his first after some good running along the backline. Further pressure saw Hornets get two corners the second of which was slipped to Seb who struck a fine shot.
the second half saw South Bucks push hard in the first 10 minutes but George, Dob and Paul managed to keep the speedy forwards at bay with some fine tackling and clearances. Hornets started to counter attack with some solid passing moves which led to a string of short corners, two of which Graham struck firmly to get his brace. Nigel King again had a great defensive game on the left and increasingly found himself in attacking positions setting up a pass to Seb who coolly flicked his second over the prostrate keeper. Somewhere in all this Dave got his second after some unselfish running by Roland. Mark continued to mesmerise the South Bucks defence with his one handed dribbles but failing to penetrate the South Bucks defence. Gradually though the Hornets got tired and a fine solo run from the South Bucks center forward got them their second goal. thanks to Peely for umpiring.
