With a late game in competition with the Rugby final week end Hornets ended up with seven and no goal keeper against one of the top teams in the league. Withe gracious support of Guildford who loaned three players we took to the pitch with 10 and and a kicking back. and it was not long before Guildford were three up. but some great hard work and tackling by Paul E and Nigel M in the midfield Hornets started to stem the tide and take a measure of control.. But Guildford's superior defence and midfiled passing did not give either Roland or Dave much joy upfront until jas made a great interception to set Dave up for Hornets first goal. Guildford responded in kind for well worked goal exploiting the extra man.
In the second half Guildford loaned their keeper to the Hornets which opened up the play into a more open game. despite this the Guildford kicking back hardly made a mistake. With Jas getting more space and Seb's hard work and running started to pay off as hornets put more pressure on the Guidlford defence. Finally a well threaded pass from Graham found Seb on the top of the circle for him to slot in his first goal. it was not long before Guildford replied with a well struck shot. Thereafter it became a midfield tussle with Seb getting his second from a hopeful tight angled shot.
an enjoyable game played in great spirit.
