Bracknell ladies hosted their first home game of the season looking for revenge!

Bracknell Ladies 1’s avenged their preseason defeat to Henley with a convincing and relentless 4-1 victory on their home turf.

Eager to build on last week’s triumphant performance at Maidenhead, Bracknell started the game with purpose and poise and immediately forced Henley onto the back foot as they stroked the ball around the pitch with imposing precision.

It didn’t take long for the home side to prosper from their hard work as they secured a well deserved short corner. The Henley side tried, in vain, to thwart Bracknell’s efforts as Katie Oliver’s strike struck the foot of one of the Henley defenders, winning the home side their second short. A flawless stop at the top of the D, by Libby Mound, enabled Holly Bentley to strike the ball cleanly into the back of the goal.

Bracknell continued with their spell of sustained pressure but Henley worked hard to stifle a number of well worked attacks and the first half remained 1-0 at the break.

The second half started much like the first and finished with Bracknell comfortably nullifying any attacking pressure Henley tried to apply. Chances were a plenty for the home side but, the Henley keeper made a number of admirable saves to keep her side in the game. Bracknell's hard work soon prevailed however, as their attacking force became too much for the away side to supress, when Bentley powered forward from her sweeper’s berth, meandering through a number of defending players and slotted the ball into the back of the goal.

Woman of the match Alison Eatwell, who has been unnavigable in defence, won the home side a free hit in their defending half. Keen to capitalise on this turnover Eatwell quickly struck the ball with vigour, hurtling forward, it infiltrated Henley's left defence and found it's way to Lorna Palmer who drove into the D with conviction and slotted the ball with pin point accuracy between the keeper's legs.

Bracknell's forth and final goal came when Kelly Hancock, looking as imperious as ever in the Bracknell's attacking line up, tore her way through the opposition and stylishly brought Bracknell's flurry of goals to a conclusion when she slotted the ball cleanly into the bottom right hand corner.

Henley, who had worked tirelessly throughout the game trying to muffle Bracknell's attacking prowess, were eventually rewarded for their efforts when they capitalised on a turn over ball in the home side's defending half. A number of precision one two's by Henley caught Bracknell off guard and the final strike of the game saw the ball in the back of the home side's goal.
