The ball was distributed well around the pitch with great support from midfielders Emma Bunyan and Dash Heaver. Bracknell pressed Rover Oxford tightly at their hit outs not letting them release the ball. Gemma Mclean intercepted one such hit, passed to Caz Apsey who was positioned perfectly at the top of the D and Apsey slotted it into the goal. Bracknell kept their focus, which can wander after scoring, and the pressure on their opposition. Most of the play was in Rover Oxfords defending D where Bracknell managed to win several more short corners, one of which was slipped right and finished by Caz Apsey again, netting over the keeper.
Bracknell started the 2nd half with the same drive and determination and produced some great chances on goal from Becky Peatfield and Kelly Lockyer but unfortunately on these occasions were kept out by the keeper. Rover Oxford had a good chance in the latter end of the 2nd half when they were awarded a short corner but it was promptly cleared by captain Marcia Clapson. Bracknell kept working right until the end keeping the Rover goal keeper on her toes. A free hit was taken minutes from the end by Kath Coveney, which was worked into the D where Becky Peatfield took a shot into the top corner of the goal but was saved magnificently by the Rover keepers stick. A great team effort saw Bracknell secure a 2-0 win with man of the match going to Caroline Apsey.
