Bracknell Ladies 1st vs Amersham and Chalfont score 3-1

Amersham defended well and their counter attack caught Bracknell a little un-prepared in defence causing a 1 on 1 situation with goalkeeper Jen Sawyer and ultimately giving first blood to Amersham. Bracknell kept battling but the first half concluded with them still 1-0 down.

Bracknell came out fighting in the second half, determined to take home a valuable win. Great team work from midfielders Gemma Mclean and Kath Coveney transferring the ball to the forward line gained the team another short corner . A well positioned ball from Yellie Powley to Gemma Mclean created the 1st goal with Mclean deftly slotting past the Amersham keeper.

This boosted Bracknells confidence which resulted in them winning a number of consecutive short corners. The pressure told on the Amersham defence when the ball was whipped into the D and with a cheeky reverse stick from Dash Heaver, Bracknells swiftly claimed their 2nd goal .

Bracknell dominated the latter part of the game infuriating Amershams defence, resulting in yet another short corner which created Bracknells 3rd and final goal this time by hard working Kelly Lockyer.

Amersham had a few chances against the run of play in the latter stages of the game but with great defensive play from Marcia Clapson, Libby Mound, Ali Eatwell Sam Hall and Katie Oliver it ensured Bracknell didn't concede. The result puts Bracknell up 2 places in the Trysports League Premier 1 to 4th place.
