They started strongly, placing 4 goals in the back of the net before half time from great team work finished by Kelly Lockyer, Marcia Clapson and Gemma Mclean. In the first half Bracknell gained multiple short corners which should have been converted but they were not clinical enough in their finishing.
The second half started with the expectation of double figures but Bracknell put in a less than convincing performance. Bracknell's score weakened to 4-1 after a surprise attack from Abingdon who took their chance well. Again Bracknell replied with wave after wave of attack from which they were unable to convert any of the multiple chances made in the second half. In the final fifteen minutes structure was regained for some impressive set plays and runs by Gemma Mclean and Katie Oliver but still the team could not improve on the opening 4 goals. Overall, a poor reflection on the seasons improvement. Bracknell will have to pull their socks up for the match against top of the league Reading next weekend!
