Bracknell v Scarlett runners score. 3-1

It was the last match of the day and Bracknell Ladies II were looking forward to their match. Everything was running a bit late but it gave us more time to prepare.
Under the floodlights at home the push-back was later than scheduled but Bracknell won the toss so the first touch was ours and it seemed like a good omen at the time.

During the first 20 mins possession was was with Brackenll 70% of the time. However despite several attacks on goal by the birthday girl Becky C no goals were forthcoming. Bracknell won a short corner and the ball was pushed out by Janine towards the waiting stick of Yellie and despite an amazing strike the ball did not hit the back of the goals. 5 mins later a break came from the opposition and was pushed well up the pitch to the Bracknell defense. Girl of the Game and Vice Captain Jane held back the onslaught with the help of Becca on the right and Georgia on the left and the ball was pushed back up the pitch to the Bracknell Mid field. A break from Fiona and Lisa conspired to get the ball into Scarlett's D. Several Bracknell players pushed the ball in but were defeated by the keeper, finally the ball came out wide and was blasted in at close range from Steph on the wing. A short time later Lisa C picked the ball up in the D from a cross by Yellie and the second goal for Bracknell was scored.

Half time saw Bracknell up by 2 goals however Scarlet Runners were not giving up. A short time into the 2nd half they capitalized on a mistake by Bracknell's midfield and took a goal back. Bracknell fought back with a lovely goal from Maria. That was the end of the scoring in the second half. Scarlet Runners kept the pressure up on Bracknell but were unable to break the defense with some excellent saves from Jo the keeper the scoreline stayed as it was.
