With the pressure running high, Bracknell 2’s were apprehensive but ready to take on the challenge, with big hopes of a much needed victory.
Although both sides started off fairly evenly, Reading 3’s quickly dominated and unfortunately, Bracknell suffered 4 – 0 defeat. It was a frustrating game from start to finish with very few goal opportunities and no short corners to give Bracknell the edge they needed to try get ahead.
There were some positional changes, with Becca Yeomans and Sarah Jane Grindley playing midfield, Jane Theodolou as a forward for the latter part of the second half and Rach Whittle stepping up as goalkeeper. All played extremely well throughout, with Rach being awarded girl of the game for her solid efforts in goal.
Another strong performance came from Janine Moorby, who has really grown in confidence as a defender and was a well deserved runner up girl of the game. The team also welcomed back Charlie Clarke, who played as if she had never been away!
Bracknell 2’s understandably were left feeling disappointed after their defeat, but will keep their chins up and hope to claw it back in the games still to come.
