Bracknell stakes were high for a win, with the opposition turning up late and without a goalkeeper in tow. However, Bracknell’s confidence was soon short lived, when Oxford ladies took advantage of their 11 players on the pitch and scored 3 goals within the first 20 minutes. Bracknell hopes were lifted slightly after a fantastic goal from one of the aspiring youngsters in the team, Noa Meshoulam. The team formation and game play improved almost instantaneously after that, but unfortunately, not enough to give Bracknell the extra goals they required to secure a win. Although Bracknell 2’s were left frustrated and didn’t quite have their usual rhythm on Saturday, one player’s performance stood out by a mile. For her unfaltering attitude and overall strong performance from start to finish, Jane Theodolou was rightfully awarded girl of the game.
So Bracknell 2’s will definitely need to go back to the drawing board, if they want to win the next match this coming Saturday against Phoenix & Ranelagh Ladies 2’s away.
