After a 5-0 defeat against Witney last weekend, Bracknell were desperate to get some points on the table. With a full team this weekend, unlike the 10 players in the game before, Bracknell were positive that they could get a result against Kidlington, but the top of the league side proved too strong. The game started well and Bracknell made some attacking runs, resulting in a couple of short corners. But it was Kidlington who scored the first goal within the first 10 minutes. However, this did nothing to dampen Bracknell’s spirits and they were sure they could get a goal back. Bracknell continued to press and retained a lot of the possession, but again it was Kidlington who put the ball into the back of the net. Going into half time, Bracknell found themselves 2 – 0 down. The second half continued in a similar fashion to the first, with Bracknell having a lot of the possession and chances, but with Kidlinton scoring another 2 goals. Bracknell’s day continued to get worse, when Joy Westlake got hit in the head with the ball after a tackle, leaving Bracknell with 10 players. With only a minute left to go, it was decided that the game should be abandoned. The final score: 4 – 0 to Kidlington, with Bracknell going back to the drawing board and deciding how to get some points on the on the table next weekend. Girl of the game this week went to Lorna Palmer, after some excellent attacking play.
