Ladies 2's v Amersham and Chalfont score 1-2

At first it seemed their hopes were justified, when Joy Westlake, who had only just returned after an injury six weeks ago, smashed the ball into the back of the goal, putting Bracknell in front. Bracknell retained the majority of possession and made some positive attacking moves, but failed to capitalise on this before half time. The second half started in the same vein as the first, with Bracknell dominating the game, but 15 minutes in Amersham turned up the heat and put pressure on the Bracknell defence. A strong strike into the D forced Rebecca Yeomans to make an excellent interception, but were then beaten by the rebound and Amersham were back level. From then on, Amersham continued to press and a number of short corners, one of which resulted in Amersham scoring their second goal. Bracknell’s heads dropped and despite a few promising runs by Lorna Palmer, they were unable to break through the Amersham defence. Final score: 2-1.
