South Berkshire dominated a competitive game and came away with the points despite late controversy. The first half saw chances at both ends but with SB carving out the better opportunities through the midfield industry of bear, lee, tangy and light and felt they should have gone in ahead after Taylor narrowly failed to convert a cross at the back post after a fine driving run from bear. The second half started with SB controlling the play through midfield and the holdup play of Gibbs and Taylor. SB took a deserved lead when Peely turned home a Jenkinson effort after a worked penalty corner and went further ahead when Peely smashed home a loose ball in the D 2 mins later. Then came the controversy as West Hampstead were awarded a goal which the SB defence and keeper thought was from outside D with the SB keeper stepping over the ball to ensure the 16. Regardless the boys knuckled down and could of added to the winning margin as they closed out the game to claim the first win of the season.
