The new look Terriors started their warm up against Woking 5ths

The new look Terriors started their warm up against Woking 5ths without Marcus, Logan, Neil and the fabled Ben Lambourne, but drafted in Graham, Tom in goal, Lee after three years out at Andy from Woking 3rds (looked classy).

Terriors were quick out of the blocks with the early pressure but couldn't convert two good chances that drifted wide. Then under a baking hot sun things began to change, Bracknell's fitness levels had been tested by the early exertions and Woking started to dominate the midfield. Gaps opened up and Bracknell were overrun. It all went horribly wrong and we went in three nil behind. Deservedly so.

An inspired half time bollocking from Ian rallied the troops. We were unfit, not running into space and giving away the ball too easily. He was right! Master tactician Dave Murray switched things around with Ian and Ben taking up to midfield duties, Andy pushed forward and Lee dropped back into his more familiar defensive role.

The second half started much more brightly with Rik and Ian beginning to control the midfield together. Andy and Robbie held the ball up well and allowed the midfield to run on to it. Henry too made a blistering run into the D before treading on the ball. All the pressure started to result in short corners and Ian converted one, a beautiful shot that left the ground and crunched into the backboard half way up. Shortly afterwards Robbie lept on a weak clearance, passed to Andy, across to Ian, goal number two. Later it looked like Ian had his hatrick but it was ruled out because the ball had not gone five yards.

There was plenty of action up the other end but Sam and Henry closed down the wings and Lee and Graham bossed the centre. Hearts were in mouths when Tom failed to clear properly, but somehow he managed to scramble round on the floor to keep out what looked like a certain goal. With five minutes to go another Bracknell short corner rebounded out and in the chaos that ensued Ben scored with a trademark tap in from 2 yards.

It finished 3-3 which was fair. Credit to Woking the game was played in a good spirit. The whole Bracknell team were rightly pleased their fantastic second half display
