Once again the Bracknell development side showed the depth of the progress they have made since the start of the season as they played host to top of the table Wycombe.

Scorers: Dave Makinder 2

Match Report: Prior to Christmas in the first half of the season the fledgling team were mercilessly put to the sword in a nine nil drubbing. Skipper Badley was confident that the team had developed sufficiently for this result not to be repeated and based on their post Christmas performances hoped that the side could proved difficult for the league trail blazers to overcome. The team did this and more. The first half Terrier display took the title hopefuls completely by surprise; Bracknell s organisation and ball retention leaving them second best for nearly the whole period. Barcknell s domination was rewarded with two goals from the king predator David Makinder. Both of his goals were great lessons for the youngsters in the side, the first saw him gamble and ghost unseen in behind the keeper who thou
ght he was letting an aimless pas run out of play only to turn to see Makinider slot home having gathered the ball as it was about to run out of play just beyond the far post; the second saw Makinder just get something on the ball in the circle and send it goal bound causing panic in the defence and then seeing the ball kicked over the line by the bewildered keeper.
Wycombe regrouped at half time and put Bracknell under immense pressure in the second half; this saw Bracknell s second area of development come into play and although ball retention did not come as easily their defensive shape was never lost and key to seeing them through to victory. Wycombe s solitary goal saw Lee Harvey get one of his two touches in the whole game; saving the initial strike only to see the rebound put away from short range.
