3s start in style

Fantastic game today, full of fantastic aerials (and some less fantastic ones). The scoreline was 6-3 to South Berks with goals from Aaron x2, Alex, Alberto, Chris and Richie.

The match started with 3 goals in the first 5 minutes with some of the best build up play I’ve ever seen from us leading to us pulling ahead by 1. This was then followed by possibly the worst goalkeeping mistake I’ve ever made. Opening the door, laying down the red carpet and offering a drink to the ball as I stepped to the side and let it through.

The rest of the match consisted of more fantastic play from both sides. With some daring dribbles from Aaron, a powerful flick to the bottom corner from Alex and the most dramatic goal from Chris as he dives to the ground smacking the ball into the back of the net on his way down.

Towards the end of the match it became end to end with nail-biting tackles from Bailey, Kav and Ben. Bear spent the whole game running end to end despite playing another match before showing simply different levels of fitness. Minutes before the end of the match we defended a short corner despite having 3 defenders there, sending it over the bar.

In general we played spectacularly and despite the goalkeeping error and a dodgy call from the umpire Sonning never really stood a chance. Well played to everyone.
