The Vets once again having to make full use of their squad following a number of absences took on Woking who are riding high in the table. If Woking thought it would be easy some early tackles and hard running by the Hornets let them know they would have to work hard. But once again Hornets were let down by giving away possession too easily. Some poor marking allowed Woking to build some sharp interplay and within a five minute period Hornets were two goals down from nowhere. Hornets tightened up their play but lacked any telling attacks to cause Woking any defensive concerns.
Second half saw Hornets keep possession a bit better and were rewarded with a couple of short corners the second of which was put away by Lee. Thereafter Hornets kept up the attacking play down the right and were rewarded with a number of shots on goal which the Woking keeper did well to save. During all this though Woking started to take control of the midfield and built up a number of attacks down the right which should have seen them extend their lead but for some good saves by Bell in the Hornets goal. Woking made it safe near the end of the game by striking an uncontested short corner into the far corner of the goal. Hornets kept pressing and a brilliant individual run by Seb ended with a shot screaming just past the post.
