Bracknell Ladies 1’s
We were up against Sonning whom formed a tight half press throughout the game. With our hard work during practise and seeing it in action throughout our game, Bracknell saw the opportunity to swing the ball from side to side with ease which pushed Sonning to crack under the pressure which opened up the long balls to the front for great opportunities.
With only two attacking short corners within the first period, Yellie Powelly took a strong strike from the top of the D to pick up our first goal of the game. We held the pressure on Sonning with great opportunities, but not finding our target. The team persevered and kept the pressure.
With the positivity within the team, we started the second half just where we left off. The triangles and team work pushed us through to continue the pressure on Sonning. By this time they started to read our strong press and started to try work/break through to stretch us out.
With Lorna Palmer going down with a hit in the mouth from the ball, got straight up and started the pressure which lead to our second goal. This was formed on the left hand side by Yellie Powelly, using the press/triangles to find Kath Coveney in the middle to quickly find Becky Coveney hovering on P spot which lead to a quick pass to Liz Goodey who finished it off for us. 2-0 Bracknell!
