Amersham dominated from the start with sharp passes and a well formed team, Bracknell struggled to maintain shape and swiftly went 1-0 down. Knowing they needed a win Bracknell ladies dug deep and with a strong defence pushed the play into the Amersham half. The skilful play of Yellie Powely earned Bracknell their first short corner which was beautifully converted into a top of the net goal by Kelly Lockyer.
Unfortunately the goal line was not to be and Bracknell went 2-1 down after Amersham won a penalty flick just before half time.
Maintaining their attacking formation Bracknell pushed to see that 2nd goal which came from another short corner through a straight strike from Yellie Powelly. Caught on the break and against the run of play Bracknells goal keeper was left unaided by her defence and with a 1 on 1 with Amersham their 3rd goal came. Deflated and with 5 minutes to go Amersham capitalised and put the game to bed with a 4th goal, finishing the game at 4-2. Bracknell ladies desperate for a win face Maidenhead 2’s, another top of the table contender, on Saturday at 1.30pm at home. If you would like to come and support them into a win please come along!
