Hatrick Hero Holly is the 'Darling' of Bracknell Hockey Club in Stunning 6 Goal Thriller.

Bracknell Ladies 1st XI need to show some bouncebackability after a disappointing 3-2 defeat last week. And did they? Oh yes they did, and in some style. In the previous few games, the team could be accused of not taking their opportunities in front of goal, leading to a couple of disappointing defeats, but not this week!
Midfield maestro, and Man of the Match, Holly Bentley led the gargantuan scoring extravaganza with the first 3 goal tally of her career, ably supported with strikes from Kelly Lockyer, Liz Goodey and Becky Wyatt, to round of a most satisfactory afternoons work.
Right from the 1st whistle, Bracknell showed their skill, class and desire, with great work from Dash Heaver and Becky Wyatt down the right, leading to several chances well saved by the in-form Phoenix Ranelagh keeper. The deadlock was eventually broken after 10 minutes with Liz Goodey forcing home the first goal of three in the opening half. The second arrived within 10 minutes, Holly Bentley finding the backboard after a 6 man melee in front of goal. Becky Wyatt added a third before half time with a superb solo effort after smart work down the lefthand side. Phoenix Ranelagh regrouped a little before the halftime whistle with some useful possession and won several short corners, but were unable to penetrate a secure Bracknell defence, led by Libby Mound, desperate to keep a clean sheet.
Few words were required from the home coaching team at half time, as Bracknell were playing some of the best hockey seen this season.
Act two of the show started as Act one had ended, endless pressure on the oppositions goal eventually led to Holly Bentley netting her 2nd of the afternoon and Bracknell's 4th. With 10 minutes of the second half gone, injury plagued skipper Kelly Lockyer could resist the urge to play no longer and ran on to deftly score the 5th with virtually her first touch. The icing on the cake came in the final throws of the game as Holly Bentley swept home from the top of the D her hat-trick goal and most memorable action of the game. Her great reaction told the big partisan crowd how much it meant to her!
Both Bracknell ladies teams played some fantastic hockey this week with 11 goals in total. Lets hope this can continue next week when the 1st XI visit Aylesbury, lying just one point behind.
