Bracknell started the stronger side piling the pressure on the Wycombe defence. They were quickly rewarded and found themselves 2-0 up after 20 minutes. Wycombe responded positively, winning and converting a short corner which was thankfully disallowed. Nonetheless Wycombe were undeterred and scored a minute before half time bringing the score to 2-1. Bracknell stepped it up a gear in the second half, being the first to every ball and making strong, quick passes. However they had to absorb a period of pressure from the Wycombe forwards but with some crunching tackles and team work they were able to keep them at bay. Bracknell sealed the game with 10 minutes to spare after Man of the Match Gemma McLean scored from a well rehearsed short corner. As the final whistle blew Bracknell were awarded another short corner, but a foul by the Wycombe keeper saw it upgraded to a penalty flick. Captain Marcia Clapson stood up for the challenge and cooly placed the ball in the back of the net. This was a well deserved 4-1 win for the team which means they are now safe in the league with a positive goal difference.
