This week Bracknell ladies 2s took on Henley in the Trysports division, a team they previously drew against.T

TWith six changes to the team sheet from the previous week, Bracknell were unsure as to how they would fare against Henley this time round. Both teams started well, but Bracknell soon came to dominate play, holding most of the possession and testing the Henley goalkeeper. Joy Westlake, who took the girl of the game accolade, played an outstanding game in the middle and pressured Henley’s defence on numerous occasions. The scorching heat from the sun soon took its toll though, and both teams started to tire. Unfortunately for Bracknell, Henley took advantage of Bracknell’s tired legs and managed to score two goals against the run of play, with the half time score resting at 2-0 to the away side.
Undeterred and confident they could come from 2-0 down like they did the previous time they played Henley, Bracknell came out determined to make up lost ground. Bracknell players Kayleigh Penfold-Welch and Liadh Troy made some blistering runs down the wings, hitting the ball into the D on numerous occasions, but failed to find the back of the net. However, about 15 minutes from time, it looked like Bracknell were going to pull a goal back, when they were awarded a penalty flick, but an outstanding save from the Henley keeper prevented Bracknell from converting it. Bracknell continued to press during the last 10 minutes but were unable to break through the Henley defence. Final score 0-2.
