West hampstead 5: 4
Bracknell 2: 1
Scorers: Tom Scott
Bracknell turned in easily their worst performance of the season with a tepid display away to West Hampstead in MBBO division 4. They started brightly enough, creating pressure that resulted in three short corners, but despite their early dominance, West Hampstead opened the scoring ten minutes into the game. From thereon in the visitors showed none of their fluid passing hockey that had seen them recently rise to mid-table and it got even worse when West Hampstead added a second goal from a short corner. True, neither goal should have been allowed due to umpiring errors, but that didn't excuse Bracknell their lifeless display.
There were some signs of recovery in the second half when Tom Scott pulled a goal back from a short corner drag flick, but the patient died when Ywain Martin deliberately stopped the ball with his foot on Bracknell's goal line. The resulting yellow card and converted penalty put paid to any hopes Bracknell had of clinching a draw, and West Hampstead added insult to injury towards the end of the game by scoring a fourth.
The defeat leaves Bracknell back in the mire of a relegation dog fight.
