Bracknell went down fighting in saturday's match away to Witney. They opened the scoring thanks to Tom Pullen, only for Witney to reply with a speedy equaliser. Then Witney scored again to take the lead. Bracknell were competitive against their higher placed opponents, right up until the point at which Matt Molyneux was hit on the finger by a firmly hit ball. The result was a broken and lacerated finger and an immediate trip to hospital. Meanwhile back on the pitch, Bracknell didn't have any subs and played out the majority of the game with ten men. Their resilience was immediately reqarded when Shaun McInnes found a goal to put Bracknell back on terms, only for witney to re-take the lead just before the break.
Come the second half the one man disadvantage became too much for Bracknell, as a fatiguing team shipped four goals. As bas as the result was, it was a manful performance from Bracknell's ten men, and they showed the kind of spirit that might just keep them in the division come the end of the season.
