Compensating umpires

The 50% discount for umpires that did more the 10+ games a season & the 40% discount for umpires doing 5+ games a season has been replaced with the following options per match umpired:

  • Match fee - compensated with a free game or passed to a playing family member*
  • Paid £10 (Payments will be made every 6 weeks)
  • Donate the fee to the club

* Nominate a family member at the start of the playing season. This cannot be changed during the season without agreement from the management committee.

Once a member has volunteered to umpire, they should email umpire@southberkshirehockeyclub.org.uk to confirm their option choice.

Non-Playing umpires may pass on the free games to a member of their family or a nominated recipient. The recipient must be named at the start of the playing season and cannot be changed on a game-by-game basis unless agreed with the management committee.

Honorary members – No match fees or Subscriptions are paid so the above does not apply and the rule under the honorary membership should be followed.

Juniors – Subs will remain unchanged, but they will be able to benefit from the above proposed options.
